What Woman Want…Fun, Freedom and end of Feminism!

We are delighted to welcome Ella Whelan of Spiked Online to debate this topic.

Is feminism preoccupied with frightening women? Is painting women as oppressed a positive change for women’s freedom? Or are we in danger of reviving a reactionary view about women’s autonomy and capabilities?

Is it time to start saying #NotMe?

About the Persuaders:

Founded by Alban James and Radiah Ford (née Binns), the Persuaders’ is the Home House Debating Salon.  Swanky and politically incorrect, it offers members and their guests the opportunity to directly engage with thought leaders from politics, the media or the arts, in heated and purposely-chaotic discussions. Chatham House rules applied. 

About the speaker:
Ella Whelan is a freelance journalist and author of “What Women Want: Fun, Freedom and an End to Feminism”. She has written for Spiked Online, Conscience, the Spectator, City Am, the IBT, Grazia and others.

She regularly appears on Sky News, Any Questions, Channel 4, GMB and others.

Held under the Chatham House Rule.

Cost: £5 member, £10 guest (all monies to our charity, The Marylebone Centre)
