EVENT INFORMATION

What is there to love about the sport?

  • Cricket is the best because of knowledgeable expert commentators, whose wise and sober reflections increase everybody’s understanding of the sport.
  • It’s a sport from a more refined and civilised age.
  • The rules of the game are so easy to understand they can be written on a tea towel.
  • A sport that, when confronted with a bit of rain, is not afraid to say “sod this” and run inside.
  • And cricket is great because, come on, a billion people in India really can’t all be wrong.
  • But mostly, it’s an excuse to sit in the sun all day with a cool drink!

Home House member, Anita Hallam is hosting the first ever social for cricket lovers with the idea of forming a ‘Home House Cricket Society’ with the purpose of organising themed cricket events and trips to matches.  Join Anita over wine and canapés to hear more.

Anita, as well as being an avid spectator is also a seasoned player.  She was born in Bombay (Mumbai), India and played club cricket first as a teenager with Mantunga Gymkana, before playing for Bombay and then being selected for the Maharashtra state team.   Anita is also a member of Middlesex County Cricket Club.
