EVENT INFORMATION

Join us in the Gloucester Lounge for A Muse-Ical performance by Galadril Gestin.

For a few years now, Galadriel Gestin has been known for delivering magical performances on plexiglass, where he is painting facing his public. “Muse-Ical” is a recent evolution of this performance as he now creates sounds by his brush strokes, enveloping the audience in a mysterious and poetic musical atmosphere.

Complex and deeply humane, Galadriel Gestin’s pictorial universe is a plethora of contradictions. A dreamlike fusion of poetic and punk, it sets a fascinating tension between Eros and Thanatos, between temptation for nihilism and quest for meaning. Whilst eminently personal, his painting has nonetheless recognizable roots, firstly in some of the masters of the 20th century such as Dali or Picasso to name all but a few, and secondly in literature and poetry such as the Beatniks, Dylan Thomas or Arthur Rimbaud. Followed by many collectors in Europe and in the US, his work gathers more than 1500 pieces painted on a variety of supports and objects. He regularly delivers public performances giving birth to works bound ephemeral, during which he either paints on a plexiglass, facing his public, or directly on a model, who then becomes the canvas.

Galadriel Gestin is exclusively represented by Red Eight gallery in the UK. Based at the Royal Exchange, London, Red Eight focuses on helping art collectors build balanced portfolios of art works, mixing blue chip artists and high potential emerging artists like Gestin.
