Twenty Years of Music: Steven Isserlis
EVENT INFORMATION
As part of our 20th anniversary festivities, our ‘Twenty Years of Music’ events promise a truly eclectic list of artists and events.
We are thrilled to welcome Britain’s greatest cellist, Steven Isserlis CBE for a very special evening of classical music.
Acclaimed worldwide for his profound musicianship and technical mastery, British cellist Steven Isserlis enjoys a unique and distinguished career as a soloist, chamber musician, educator, author and broadcaster. Amongst many tributes, Steven was awarded the CBE for his services to music and is one of only two living cellists featured in Gramophone’s Hall of Fame. He gives most of his concerts on the Marquis de Corberon (Nelsova) Stradivarius of 1726, kindly loaned to him by the Royal Academy of Music.
Joining Steven will be conductor and pianist Ian Brown. Ian made his London debut as a conductor in a performance of Mahler’s ‘Resurrection’ Symphony in the Barbican and has since conducted the Philharmonia, English Chamber and the Scottish Chamber Orchestras to name a few. He is also Music Director of the Henley Symphony Orchestra.
The duo will be performing:
